The Lifestyle Session
All sessions come with retouched high resolution files, online gallery for easy sharing, and the rights to print.
Sessions normally last between 45 minutes to 1 hour long (with exception of newborn sessions). Typically, it depends on how much time the kiddos will actually give me!
For outdoor sessions, photographing start time will either be 1.5 hours before sunset or 45 minutes after sunrise. These times vary depending on the time of year. For at-home indoor sessions, times can be scheduled during the afternoon.
I encourage families to think of a location that is meaningful to them or place where they spend a lot of time. If you are stumped, I have a list of great locations and can recommend a one based on the look and feel you envision. Travel fees will apply if location is outside a 20 mile radius of the city.
It’s never too early! If you are interested in maternity and newborn photography, it’s very easy to schedule based around your due date. Fall is the most popular time of year for family portraits. There are a limited number of available dates, so scheduling in August and September is recommended.
We want you to stand out, so think about the location. If we are going to a park, try not to wear green to avoid blending in with the background. Outfit ideas can be found on my Pinterest board if you’ve been rummaging through the closet.
We want your child to be healthy and happy for your pictures! Your retainer fee will be transferable for a new date. We can reschedule hassle free, but session must complete within 1 year from your original date.
YES! Mini session events happen once a year in October. This is a 15-minute session that’s a great option if you want an updated family picture, or are sending holiday cards. If you’re looking for more camera time and documentation of your kids being kids, a regular portrait session may be a better route. Mini sessions include a minimum of 10 retouched high resolution digital files.
The Artwork
Copyright remains owned by Allison Mah Photography LLC, but the good thing is, you don’t need it! Copyright can easily get confused with a print release. You actually don’t need to own the copyright to print or post your images.
You will receive your online gallery no later than three weeks after your session date.
I believe in quality over quantity. On average, you will receive 40 final retouched high resolution images.
I love both color and B&W photography. As your photographer, I will decide which version best suits each image. You will not receive both versions for every image in your gallery.
There’s something about proudly displaying a piece of artwork in your home. I spend time carefully color correcting and retouching your images, so a professionally printed piece like a canvas wrap will hang beautifully on your wall. Pricing and packages are available.
